It is the beginning, the end, and everything in between …
It truly is the fundamental reason we are here …
To lift each other up through love and connection …
Whereby all involved inflate, stretch and expand
I have had the sense since I was a child …
That there is no real separation between me and another
living, breathing human being …
Same two eyes, same beating heart, same wish to be significant and contribute in a meaningful way …
And I believe this is God’s way of working through us, as He shows us, either by example or by contrast,
How we express … or withhold … love from one another
Try this experiment …
Go into a public place, a restaurant or a coffee shop, and see as you sit there if you can feel the connection
between you and every other person there, breathing in, breathing out
Because in truth, nothing really separates you
Which is why as I look at evidence of rampant intolerance, hatred or violence around our communities and
Around the world, I think how simple it is to counter-act this tragedy
Hate really is just FEAR masquerading as something else
Fear of differences, fear of the unknown
Imagine what might happen in this world of ours if LOVE were to replace suspicion, distrust and greed
If business interactions were more about an honest exchange of value and service for remuneration
Truly there are no differences, just differences of opinion
Just imagine …
If there was a mindset community of people devoted to strengthening the individual, the collective, the
world at large …
Whereby these individuals would go out into the world as “Prophets of Peace”, as “Good News Merchants”
Committed to shifting the world just one degree, so that it rotates in a completely new and balanced way
There is!
And it is called The Million Mind March, co-founded by Joe Schroeder and Diane Hochman
I was on a Members Only call last night … it began at 11 pm est and continued on until after 1 am …
With members of this committed community of thinkers and doers exchanging ideas and speaking “word”
It is a profoundly wonderful place to gather …
And I was reminded for the millionth time how critically important it is for all of us to surround ourselves with
People who LIFT us up, who strengthen and expand us through respectful challenge and spirited
discourse …
Just imagine if the whole world operated that way …
This planet could very well be a very different place
As Mahatma Ghandi said “Be the change you want to see in the world.”
It truly starts in your own heart.
