New Day, New Way – Put On Your Walking (Running?) Shoes!

I’m getting

ready to move …  Scale

Have been contemplating this change

for a year now…

The house is too big for one person,

and my kids are launched into their own young adult lives … JOB WELL DONE!

They are amazing, and are my proudest accomplishment…

It doesn’t make sense to hold onto all of this space for a couple of holiday visits…

And I know they know that wherever I am, there will always be space for them…

What if we broke with tradition and instead of holidays at home, we traveled somewhere together as a group, donating our time together as volunteers in a needy part of the world

Those experiences cement a family as surely as repetition of oft-repeated habits, and they underscore what I have been teaching them for years – BE OF SERVICE IN YOUR LIFE!

But the house is so comfortable! So familiar! I know where my things are!

It is also exhausting to take care of all this space …

It occurs to me that releasing the responsibilities/habits/THINGS that no longer have center stage in my life allows the space to open up for new directions, new opportunities

But it’s SCARY! UNNERVING! STRANGE!

Yet it is also liberating, exhilarating, like a splash of cold water in the face…

I remind myself that I had a similar experience moving from California to Washington nearly six years ago…

Everything was new and strange …

Newly single after 20 years, ending a long-term established business, I had to reinvent myself in so many ways…

And be a reliable constant for my kids in the process…

I did it, not without bumps and bruises, but I did it…

And I emerged more aware of my resources and my strengths

And now it is a new chapter once again … Open Book

I have an opportunity to pare down…

To travel lighter…

To distill the lessons of 50 years on the planet and offer help and support to those seeking a similar path…

I’ve learned A LOT…

You see, it IS possible to reinvent yourself

And you can start with small steps

A year ago if you had asked me about blogging and social media and how it  relates to business and internet marketing, I would have said “What???” I was secretly embarrassed that I did not know the first thing about all of this…

And now, thanks to my dear friend and mentor Rose Mis, I have emerged from that fog! Rose is a phenomenal teacher, and is a virtual encyclopedia of knowledge…

And she shares what she knows so generously! I love her training blog … TONS of excellent information all there free of charge

She has truly helped me to light a fire under my business!

We are ALL teachers, we are ALL able to share our particular gifts and strengths, once we identify what they are …

But I maintain that it is the hand outstretched that makes ALL of the difference …Helping Hands

No matter what you may be promoting in your business, what product, what service, WHATEVER …

It is the human connection that people are craving …

We are social animals, and we learn best from each other

I love to share what I know after 30 years as a working professional…

Whether the topic is Green Building or Natural Nutrition, Real Estate Investing or Mindset Training

I happily share what I know if it can help someone else …

And now I feel the space opening up for yet another adventure …

Stay tuned!  New Path (bridge)

    Hey Holly,

We know exactly what you are going through, we sold our house and moved into an RV almost 2 years ago. We don't have a “home” per say, we live wherever we park it!

The hardest part was downsizing and getting rid of the things we could not haul around the country but we have found that most if the stuff was stuff we could live without, we find it a much simpler life and we really enjoy it. We are not even considering buying a postage stamp piece of land anytime in the future, we are having way too much fun on the road!

I hope you enjoy your new life and yes Rose is a fantastic teacher, you are lucky to have her in your life as am I.

    Hey Scott,

So great to hear a comment from someone who made it through this transition so gracefully!

I do look forward to living “lighter” and seeing what kind of space opens up as a result.

So glad our paths have crossed, and thanks for your wisdom!

You and I are in the same boat – putting our houses on the market and moving forward – reinventing ourselves, both personally and professionally.
Rose truly is a great teacher. We're two lucky gals!
    Good luck on your path!
