Hello and Welcome!
My name is Holly Harris and I am happy to introduce myself to you…
Like everyone, I have had people and events which have shaped my life and have directed me on a particular chosen path, so this is where I will start…
My step-father, who was French, came into my life when I was 11 and he was fascinating! He spoke 5 languages, was an amazing cook, plus he had lived in both Europe and America so he bridged both of these cultures and could offer an interesting perspective to me. I knew by the time I was in high school that I wanted to study in France, and I had dreams at the time of being a diplomat, serving as a communicator and bridge builder. I am fascinated by what it takes to truly communicate with our fellow human beings, whether we are separated by language, ideology, perceptions or values. A question that has always intrigued me is “What would it mean to truly be a Citizen of the World?”
I spent my second year in college in France primarily traveling, showing up for classes just enough to maintain my student status. I had a student train pass, and I went all over Scandinavia, Europe, and through the Greek Islands on a shoestring budget, sleeping on ferry decks and sharing food and learning survival skills with other students. I had some amazing adventures, including a walk-on part in a french film. I finished school in 3 years, and in that time also fell in love, so instead of my original plan of grad school in International Relations (remember the diplomat dream!), I redirected into sales and marketing and went to work for a commercial real estate company.
I considered it a career switch into domestic diplomacy! I loved this job, and found it incredibly satisfying to listen carefully to what a client was looking for, then finding it and presenting it to them. I liked making the numbers work, and I found it stimulating to work in an industry (that was then) predominantly male, believing as I do that women entrepreneurs can do anything they put their mind and attention to! I worked happily and successfully in this field for 5 years, and retired upon the birth of my first child. Motherhood was extraordinary, and I fell in love with my son! I had originally intended to return to work when he was 6 weeks old, but the 6 weeks extended to 3 months, which extended to 6 months until I finally admitted to my bosses and myself that I was going to find something else that I could do to be home with my son.
My husband was in the midst of forming a new construction company, and I inserted myself into the middle of this company as Operations Manager working from a home office. This arrangement proved to be an excellent solution as it allowed me to be home for not only my son but for his 2 sisters who followed, one of whom has special needs. We saw our company grow to 85 employees, and I loved wearing many hats – office manager, tax preparer, handler of banking and vendor relationships – it was an incredibly satisfying experience. Sadly, many good things often come to an end, and I found myself in the midst of divorce after 20 years and 3 children. It was time to reinvent myself once again.
I moved to Washington state from California, not knowing a soul in my new community, but drawn to the serenity and healing beauty of the Puget Sound. I love anything to do with the outdoors, and my new community offered so much – skiing, kayaking, breathtaking hiking trails in the Cascades, salmon fishing, and sailing in the San Juan Islands, to name a few. It was like living in a postcard, and I loved it from the first moment. I turned to the internet, as so many of us do, to explore all of my employment alternatives and was struck between the eyes when I discovered an amazing opportunity centered on travel, my original passion and overarching interest.
I felt I had discovered an avenue extraordinarily well-suited for me, as it incorporated my love of exploration, my belief in the importance of positioning myself in a business that resonated personally with my own interests, and it allowed me to maintain a home-based office where I could continue to provide stability and structure for my 3 children. I was a complete network marketing novice; I really did not know the first thing about it, except that I knew that I love to interact with people and find out what their own particular passion might be, and if we might have a connection between us. I also knew that I wasn’t alone in being a newly-single woman in the midst of a career transition, and that there were many other seekers out there just like me.
In the past 3 years I have grown in ways that I could not have imagined, and I have expanded my professional career into the realm of online marketing. I have had the amazing good fortune to connect with some brilliant online marketers and to train and mentor with them. Now I would like to extend a helping hand to those who, like me, burn with a desire to create a business of their own and are searching for the tools, training and most importantly, the PEOPLE who will help them to succeed online. I find my calling is in assisting others as they contemplate a change in direction, a career transition, or simply have a desire to create and maintain a lifestyle (and income) of their own design. I have been blessed with extraordinary mentors along the way, and I would like to return the favor to those I serve, who like me are courageously seeking the avenue towards an extraordinary life (which, by the way, I believe is the birthright of ALL of us, if we allow it!) We are all in this together, to help, to support and to co-create. And when we find one another, the chemistry is magical. I look forward to seeing how I can best assist you!
With every good wish,
Holly
