EVER WONDER HOW TO DESIGN A COMPELLING, LOOK-AT-ME, CURIOSITY-INSPIRING CAPTURE PAGE?
Was on my daily call with my team this morning, and we were tossing around ideas relating to creating attention-grabbing “capture” or squeeze pages…
…by the way, a capture or squeeze page is information outlined on a web page intended to mesmerize or captivate our viewers to the point where they just HAVE to opt-in and see what the fuss is all about…
And I thought it would be great information to share, especially for people getting started in internet marketing who are figuring out who their perfect prospect is and how this particular person relates to their products or services…
There is a WEALTH of information out there on Google (YOUR BEST FRIEND) on any topic you can possibly imagine…
You simply type a word or a phrase into the search box and V-O-I-L-A!
An entire tidal wave of information presents itself..
I was looking into back pain, for example…
Type in the words back pain and thousands of titles immediately appear, expand your search to include causes of back pain and thousands more are there, all ready to be investigated and explored by you, as you seek out relevant, important, SHAREABLE information…
Another fascinating aspect of a Google Search is you can get a sense of how relevant this topic is by noting the number of results that appear when you put in certain key words…

50,000 to 54,000,000 is a very robust market… people are LOOKING for this information…And you know you have a ready audience for what you want to say…
How will you deliver it?
After all, we want to be relevant, and we want to produce content that is going to be of value for our audience…
Keep in mind that you are speaking to an immediate need or problem, and you are communicating a solution…
How you flesh out your message with all of the relevant information you have discovered in your research is entirely up to you…
That is the fun part!
But speak as if you are conversing with a friend, and keep your tone real, accurate and believable, not full of false claims or hearsay, and definitely do not regurgitate information from a company website (if this is your primary business) just because it is there…
Remember you want relevant, valuable, helpful information that answers a need or addresses a problem…
People are smart, and they don’t appreciate being lied to or manipulated so GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!
As you read your copy…
Imagine that you are your prospect, and gauge your own reaction…
If it stinks to you, chances are it will stink to your viewer!
With your keywords in place in the search box, also click on the “images” tab on the upper left hand side of your Google page and all kinds of photographs immediately appear, photos that you can enlarge, then capture with a screen shot application like jingproject.com and incorporate right into your capture page. Look for photos that are not only in sync with your message, but that inspire some kind of reaction as well…
Remember… you are engaging your viewer…
And you want them to stay engaged enough to want to explore further and see what you have to share…
You want to present yourself as trustable, and worthy of further dialogue…
Keep in mind that on an average day we are DELUGED with 3.6 zettabytes (1 zettabyte = 1 billion trillion bytes) of information, clamoring for our attention…
People are stressed, tired, and are usually sneaking a peek a Google in a free moment at work or at the end of the day at home…
You have seconds to draw them in, to capture their attention, to share something relevant and meaningful before they click over to something else.
What is your goal?
You want to connect with them if you are the person they are looking for…
You want to be a servant or consultant to this person, NOT a salesperson…
If what you have to say strikes a chord with them, then the desired result is to have them to fill out their contact information and opt in to see what is on the other side of your compelling capture page…
Are you offering a free newsletter, a helpful how-to manual, a step-by-step solution, a free e-book, or what?
And speaking of opt-in forms, make sure you also create one of these to insert on your capture page…
For help on this front…
I recommend taking a look at AWeber – an integrated communications system that ROCKS!
So get out there and CONNECT with that special person who is looking for YOU!
And make it RELEVANT!
